Zeon Europe GmbH, Düsseldorf, a leading marketer of synthetic rubber, has announced a general price increase in Europe of EUR 350/t for all Nitrile Rubber. Reasons for this increase are continuing rising costs of key raw materials and transport. This price increase will take effect from June 1st, 2011.

May, 2011 - AABC Advanced Automotive Battery Conference, 6-10 June 2011

The increase is required to compensate for the continuing rise in the cost of key raw materials. These price increases will take effect from May 1st, 2011.

Zeon Europe GmbH has announced a general price increase in Europe of EUR 150/t for all Nitrile Rubber. The increase is required to compensate for the continuing rise in the cost of all key raw materials. These price increases will take effect from April 1, 2011.

February 2011 - production of battery binders in Japan

In Japan Zeon Corporation is providing binders for lithium ion rechargeable battery electrodes and battery sealant through the application of our synthetic rubber technology:

Binder for lithium ion rechargeable battery (LIB)
Batteries using our flexible rubber binder require less binder than PVdF, resulting in thinner batteries. BM-400B, a negative electrode binder, recognized in the market for its greater flexibility for electrodes than conventional PVdF.

Zeon has recently introduced a new series of battery binders for active materials, such as LiMn2O4 and LiFePO4.
LiMn2O4 and LiFePO4 chemistries are anticipated to find broad use in positive electrodes for large size Lithium Ion Batteries ( LIB ) used in HEV, UPS, and industrial uses.

Zeon binders can provide LIB with LiMn2O4 and LiFePO4 for improved properties like longer cycle life and lower resistance, compared to conventional binders , such as PVdF.

February 28, 2011 - Price Increase

Zeon Europe GmbH, a leading producer of synthetic rubber, announce a general price increase in Europe of EUR 200/t for all Nitrile Rubber. These price increases will take effect from March 1, 2011, subject to the terms of any applicable contracts. Butadiene and Acrylonitrile, the monomers used in the production of Nitrile Rubbers, are now being adjusted monthly and therefore Nitrile Rubber prices will be following the same pattern.

February 21,2011 - ZEON Opens Subsidiary in South Korea -- "ZEON KOREA"

ZEON CORPORATION (President & CEO: Naozumi Furukawa) announces that it has established a 100% owned subsidiary, ZEON KOREA CO., LTD., located in Seoul, South Korea since February 1st , 2011.
Korea is an important growth market for ZEON, and ZEON KOREA will be responsible for all ZEON's business within South Korea as a regional headquarters, inclusive of providing quick response and detailed support to the Korean market.

January 2011 - Price Increase

Zeon Europe GmbH has announced a general price increase in Europe on all HyTemp® and Nipol AR® (ACM) polymers of 1.250€ per metric tonne that was effective Jan. 1, 2011 due to drastic increases in raw material costs. The Jan. 1, 2011 price increase is in addition to the 500€ per metric tonne HyTemp® and Nipol AR® (ACM) price increase that was announced in June 2010.
